E-wallet delinking and revenue: GCash parent payments down 3.7%, DigiPlus revenue down 31.2% in H1 2026

AP Securities linked a drop in Mynt (GCash parent) payment revenue and DigiPlus revenue in H1 2026 to the BSP's August 2025 delinking of e-wallets from online gaming. Figures and caveats.

Source: AGBrief report on an AP Securities (APS) research note, 7 October 2026. These are an analyst's attributions, not regulator findings. Updated 27 October 2026.

The figures

AGBrief reports that APS put:

  • Mynt (GCash parent) payment solutions revenue at PHP24.9 billion in H1 2026, down 3.7% year on year.
  • DigiPlus revenue at PHP32.85 billion, down 31.2%.

APS linked the declines to BSP restrictions, citing "the full impact of the BSP-mandated delinking of e-wallets from online gaming platforms beginning August 2025". The report recalls that the BSP's August 2025 directive required supervised institutions to remove gambling-site access links within 48 hours, and that GCash removed access to licensed gaming top-up and withdrawal services on 16 August 2025.

Caveats

This is one analyst's attribution; other factors (consumer spending, regulation) may also matter, and PAGCOR's chairman cited weaker spending in the first quarter (PAGCOR H1 revenue).

What it means for players
