Yogonet also reports P30.16 billion in contributions to government and that the net income drop was mainly due to higher mandatory remittances to the Philippine Sports Commission after a Supreme Court ruling (P2.01 billion, up 58.68%).
Stated causes and outlook
PAGCOR chairman Alejandro Tengco attributed the decline mainly to weaker electronic gaming earnings, pointing to the effect of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which, per the Daily Tribune, "dampened consumer spending during the first quarter". The reports say conditions improved in the second quarter but that he warned of risks from higher global fuel prices. Some analysts have linked the slump to the e-wallet delinking order (what changed); that is a view, not something these reports establish.
What it means for players
These are regulator revenue figures, not a measure of any operator's safety. Context from our other reports: licensees fell from 74 to 48 and no new licences are planned (news), and the list of registered domains changed a lot between 2025 and 2026 (what changed).
