PAGCOR plans an app to verify licensed online gaming sites, targeting December 2026

PAGCOR plans a mobile app that lets players check whether an online gaming site is licensed, according to Yogonet (21 Oct 2026).

What PAGCOR announced

PAGCOR's announcement (19 October 2026) says the Board approved the app on 8 October and targets a December 2026 launch. Chairman Alejandro Tengco: "This platform will give players a reliable way to verify which online gaming platforms are licensed by PAGCOR" and "We want the public to make informed choices and avoid falling prey to illegal operators." DBP Data Center, Inc. will develop, host, operate and maintain it at no cost to PAGCOR under a five-year renewable arrangement, after a proof of concept that PAGCOR evaluates over a six-month assessment of features, architecture, security controls and feasibility; PAGCOR may terminate if deficiencies are not fixed.

What trade press added

• PAGCOR's Board approved development and implementation of the app on 8 October 2026.
• Development Bank of the Philippines Data Center, Inc. (DCI) would develop, host, operate and maintain the platform, with PAGCOR paying none of the costs, under a five-year, renewable agreement.
• PAGCOR has set December 2026 as the "potential rollout date". DCI must first submit a proof of concept for a minimum viable product, which PAGCOR will assess before accepting full-scale implementation. Yogonet describes a six-month assessment covering features, architecture, security and feasibility, so the December date looks provisional.
• The arrangement must comply with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
• Context: PAGCOR's chairman said in August 2026 that about half of accessible online gaming sites are illegal (DZRH).
