Online casino KYC in the Philippines: what PAGCOR-licensed sites ask for
Why licensed online casinos ask for a government ID and selfie before you can deposit, what PAGCOR said in February 2026, and how to protect your data.

KYC ("know your customer") is the identity check an operator runs on you. Only people aged 21 and above may play on PAGCOR-regulated platforms (who may play), and KYC is how operators check that.
What PAGCOR said in February 2026
New to the terms? KYC, NDRP and turnover are defined in our PAGCOR glossary.
At a Senate hearing in February 2026, PAGCOR officials described tighter identity checks, reported by AGBrief:
- Registrants must submit their initial KYC requirements before they can deposit.
- Required details: name, contact information, a valid government-issued ID, and a real-time selfie with the ID.
- The aim is to reduce borrowed or fake identities.
Operators may add more checks, such as proof of ownership of the payment method, when you withdraw. That varies, so read the operator's terms.
Tips
- Verify early, with clear, uncropped photos; names must match your payment account.
- Send documents only through the operator's secure upload, never by chat, social media or personal email.
- Be wary of a site that asks for ID but cannot show a valid listing.
- Read the privacy policy for how long documents are kept.
When "no KYC" is a warning sign
A site that lets you deposit with no identity check at all is not offering a perk. Given PAGCOR's stated rule, it may be outside the regulatory framework. Read our scam-spotting guide and the deposits and withdrawals guide.
Pending or rejected KYC
If your KYC is stuck or rejected, the usual causes are:
- Image quality: blurry, dark, cropped or glare-covered ID photos.
- Expired or unsupported ID: use a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Selfie mismatch: the live selfie with the ID must match the ID photo.
- Name differences: spelling, middle name or married name differing between the ID, the account and your wallet or bank.
- Restrictions: age, student or government-worker rules (who can play).
- Manual review backlog. We publish no processing times because we have not verified any.
What to do: read the rejection message and the operator's KYC page; resubmit inside the operator's own site or app at its registered address; use a clear, uncropped photo of an unexpired ID; contact official support and keep screenshots and reference numbers; if a licensed operator does not resolve it, see how to file a PAGCOR complaint. Be worried if someone in a chat asks you to send your ID or selfie to them, if a site demands a fee to finish KYC, or if it lets you deposit with no ID check at all.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a casino ask for my ID?
PAGCOR told the Senate in February 2026 that registrants must submit initial KYC details before they can deposit: name, contact information, a valid government-issued ID and a real-time selfie with the ID. The aim is to stop borrowed or fake identities.
Do I need to verify before depositing?
On PAGCOR-licensed platforms, PAGCOR said initial KYC must be submitted before a deposit. Exact steps vary by operator, so follow the operator's own terms.
