A moneyline bet is the simplest basketball market: pick the winner. Overtime counts, and there is no draw.
Two ways to write odds
| Style | Favourite | Underdog | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decimal (common in Asia/Europe) | 1.67 | 2.30 | Total return per 1 staked, including stake |
| American | -150 | +130 | -150: stake 150 to win 100; +130: stake 100 to win 130 |
Conversions (invented): -150 → 1 + 100/150 = 1.67; +130 → 1 + 130/100 = 2.30.
What the price implies
Implied probability = 1 ÷ decimal odds: 1.67 → about 60%, 2.30 → about 43%. They add to about 103%, the bookmaker's margin. Walk through the maths in decimal odds and implied probability.
Tips
- A favourite at short odds still loses sometimes; do not stake money you cannot afford to lose.
- Compare with the point spread market, where the margin matters.
- Only use a site you can verify with PAGCOR.
Frequently asked questions
What is a moneyline bet?
You pick which team wins the game outright; the margin does not matter. Basketball has no draws after overtime, so there are two outcomes.
What do -150 and +130 mean?
In American odds, -150 means you stake 150 to win 100 profit (the favourite). +130 means a 100 stake wins 130 profit (the underdog). Decimal equivalents are about 1.67 and 2.30.
Ano ang moneyline?
Pipili ka lang kung sino ang mananalo sa laro, kahit gaano kalaki ang lamang.
