Is NBA and PBA betting legal in the Philippines? (October 2026)

This is information, not legal advice. Basketball fans often search "is NBA betting legal in the Philippines?" because many results come from offshore sites. Here is what we can support with official sources.

What PAGCOR's own list shows

PAGCOR Guarantee is PAGCOR's list of authorised online gaming websites, launched on 18 June 2025. It can be filtered by category, and the categories include Sports Betting alongside electronic casino games, online poker and bingo. So authorised online sportsbooks exist, and PAGCOR tells players to verify a site there. We could not find an official statement that lists which basketball leagues each platform may take bets on, so we do not make claims about specific markets.

Age and who may play

Only people aged 21 and above may play, and certain people, such as students and some government and uniformed personnel, are restricted. See who can play.

Brands that print "Sports Betting" on PAGCOR's list

Our betting sites page tables every brand whose printed game offering on PAGCOR's accredited administrator list (20 Oct 2026) includes Sports Betting. It is not a ranking and we have not tested them.

Offshore and social-media "betting"

PAGCOR said in 2025 that gambling livestreamed on social media is likely illegal, and its chairman said in 2026 that about half of accessible online gaming sites are illegal (scam signs). Many popular offshore sportsbooks are not on PAGCOR's list. If a site is not listed under the exact address you are using, you cannot confirm it is authorised.

Official partnerships are not licences

In 2026 ArenaPlus announced a multiyear NBA collaboration as the league's first official betting partner in the Philippines, per a company press release (news). A partnership is marketing: verify any sportsbook's exact address on PAGCOR's lists. For NBA basics see the NBA odds guide.

How to check before you bet

1. Open pagcorguarantee.ph yourself and filter to Sports Betting.
2. Match the exact website address; see how to check a PAGCOR licence.
3. Expect ID verification before you deposit (KYC).
4. Learn the basics first: reading odds and implied probability.
